XactCommerce XactCommerce Server Deployment

XactCommerce™ is written in 100% Java and complies to both the Sun JAXP XML parser API and the Sun Servlet 2.2 API. We provide XactCommerce™ Server in configurations using Apache (web server), Tomcat (application server), and Sun's Java Virtual Machine V1.4. Nevertheless, the basic XactCommerce™ engine can be run by any web/application server architecture capable of running servlets and mapping file extensions to a servlet.

Even though XactCommerce™ Servers can run in a whole host of environments, we recommend running XactCommerce Server on Linux, Mac OS/X, or Sun Solaris environments. XactCommerce Server will also run in Windows 2003 Server, HP-UX, BSD and many other platforms as well. XactCommerce Server was designed to be database independent, we provide XactCommerce Server with a Demo Version of Sybase 9.0 and PostgreSQL 8.0

We provide installation "scripts" for many platforms if you care to do this yourself. We are also happy to provide XactCommerce™ preconfigured as a fully integrated XactCommerce™ Server.

You don't have to own a XactCommerce™ Server to have an XactCommerce™ Site!
We are happy to host your XactCommerce™ site or assist you in finding a ISP to host your XactCommerce™ Site.

Most web based service offering do not allow you to move your data off of their hosting environment and host it for yourself. However, because XactCommerce™ Server software licenses and Preconfigured Servers are available for you to purchase, this means that you can have absolute control over your data if this is essential.

A Preloaded XactCommerce™ Server is integrated and pre-configured and ready to install when you receive it. This saves you time effort and considerable expense of integrating all of the necessary components on your own or hiring people to make these choices and attempt to fit together a complete solution.
